A Couple Of Things

Hi everyone! My name is Amy, and I just joined up to the KAL here. I think that Last Minute Knitted Gifts is probably my favorite knitting book, and I seem to be knitting a lot from it lately.

Well, I'll start off with some pictures, both FO and WIP.

Here are the Fingerless Gloves, in Ultra Alpaca. There's only one in the photo, because I was taking pics myself.

Here are two pics of the Knitted Gift Bag. The finished one is in Plymouth Alpaca, and the WIP is in Cascade Indulgence. These are so quick and easy ... I just may have to make a few more.

And, finally, the humble start for The Hourglass Sweater. I'm using cotton instead of wool, so we'll see how that turns out.

More Cotton Hats

I can't get enough of this pattern! I made three more last week: And here is one of them in use. It is such a quick, interesting pattern- easy, but not boring, and looks absolutely adorable on. Case in point:

Children's Cotton Hat

I made two cotton hats from leftover yarn I had at home. They are for recently born twins- a girl and a boy- so I made the smallest size. I really like this pattern- it is a lot of fun to knit.

Hourglass Sweater

Has anyone made the hourglass sweater? I want to buy the yarn to make it as my first sweater. Does anyone know if it fits well, or anything like that?

Thanks!
Sarah

Mini Sweaters

I am planning on knitting mini sweaters for my uncles as Christmas presents. I am going to knit the sweaters in white or green and embroider their initials on it. I think that they will love the present. I am going to make hangers out of pipe cleaners so they can hang them on the Christmas tree! This way it will be faster to knit then scarves!

Last night I got a totally awesome camera that is really expensive. However, it was a gift so I did not have to buy it. My parents gave it to me as a present for making the National Junior Honors Society!!!!!!!

Children's Cotton Hat

Hi! I'm laptitelili, I'm French, and the Children's Cotton Hat is my first knit from the book Last Minute Knitted Gift. I used a dicontinued yarn of Bergère de France (Cotonature), and I omited to do the I-cord, because the hat is a gift for a little boy. It was indeed really fast to knit!

Hello

Thanks for allowing me to join this KAL. I've been wanting to do the lace camisole and the pouch for some time. I have yarn for both, though the pouch can really be done in just about any kind of yarn I guess. The yarn for the camisole is some Knit Pick's Shine Sport in a beautiful royal blue color. I've got several ideas for the pouch, even one that is a heavy weight. I suppose that it will be a quick enough knit that I could do it in all of the yarn I'd like. Hopefully now I'll have the inspiration I need to start.

I found 3 out of 4

I found 3 out of the 4 projects I have going from Last Minute Knitted Gifts. Somewhere in the madness is a scarf I started last Christmas to keep my Honey warm and now I have discovered my house ate it! But the other 3 are accounted for. How's everyone doing? Any pics yet? Here's how far I've gotten:

Hola!

Hello! Sorry I have not written yet, it's been a very busy March and April. Thank you Sarah, for still letting me joining :) Right now I am working on the Child's Placket Sweater. I am trying to knit from my stash, I have mostly acrylic yarn, so this sweater probably won't be a gift or anything. I just need to work on different design elements. I'm breaking away from scarves and hats, nothing is wrong with them-mind you, but I like to be challenged. My first project was a reversible cable knit scarf, so you can just imagine :)

I will be posting as soon as I find my USB cord. Now where could it be...

So Many Projects...

Hi Everyone!
I was so happy to find this KAL! This is one of my favorite books and I've got too many projects from this book half done! I need a little push to finish and this will do it!

Currently I'm doing the leg warmers, the Men's cashmere scarf (using alpaca!), the chevron scarf, and a hat to match the rustic scarf I actually completed! So many yummy things to choose from... Does anyone have pictures yet? I'd love to see what everyone is doing!

Enjoy!

My current project

Hi Everyone,

Thanks Sarah for letting me join your blog! I guess I should introduce myself. I'm Katie and I live just south of Boston in Norwell, MA. I have been knitting since I was little. (And that's a long time ha ha!!!) I am currently making the tea cozy from Last Minute Knitted Gifts, as well as several other assorted projects. I like this tea cozy because I love the "thermal" pattern. It is a great knit to do while you are watching TV! If it wasn't so darn rainy and grey out I would take a picture to show you my progress!

I'm using Mission Falls 1824 wool (my favorite) in a pumpkin color to match my kitchen. Hopefully if all goes well, I will be able to make a few more for gifts!

Have a great day!!!

One Done!

I had to knti a baby sweater in three days. THREE DAYS!!!! I had no idea where to look for a pattern until I remembered my Last Minute Knitted Gifts book. I managed to knit up the sweater in two and a half days!!!! I was paid twenty five dollars for the sweater! It was so cute. I knitted it with some pale green yarn and added little heart buttons. It was for a one year old, but I made it big since we live in Alabama. That way, she will be able to wear it longer!!!
